Project Description
As presently conceived by the City of West Bend, the Sponsor's proposal includes:
 
Construction of a new 5,500 ft x 100 ft Runway 7/25 with full instrumental landing system (ILS) having Category 1(Cat 1) capability and associated navigational aids (NAVAIDS);
 
Construction of a full parallel taxiway to Runway 7/25;
 
Hanger area development;
 
Land acquisition;
 
Widening and rerouting of Highway 33 around the north side of the airport between North Trenton Road and 4,000 ft east of North Oak Road.

Phase II of the West Bend EIS
is now underway.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the West Bend Municipal Airport Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) has been approved and executed by each of the Cooperating Agencies.  The MOU outlines the procedures and coordination efforts that will be followed in the preparation of the EIS.  Cooperating Agencies serving with FAA on the West Bend EIS include: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Federal Highway Administration, and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
